NIFCA ER Draft for Consultation Rev C August 2014-Word document
To achieve the IFCA Vision1 and High Level Objectives2, there is a need to develop inshore management measures that enable decision making which is aimed at achieving sustainable development.
Against this backdrop, NIFCA are undertaking a Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) of the districts fisheries management regime. There are five stages to the SEA process. The first Stage sets the content and objectives in a Scoping Report. The Scoping Report was produced in April 2013 and consultation duly took place. That led to us beginning the development of the Environmental Report, upon which we held a Stakeholder Working Group in February of this year with the continued assistance of our consultants Mott MacDonald. The outputs from that event together with continued analysis by our officers and Mott MacDonald has led to the finalisation of the draft consultation document which can be seen below.
We would now very much appreciate your help by giving us any pertinent comments which you may have on the draft Environmental Report and which can be sent to us by email or letter (addresses below).
I confirm that the draft Environmental Report will be open for consultation for a 6 week period only and we will be unable to consider any responses after the closing date which is Friday 26 September. Thanking you in advance for your time and response.
For email responses please send to (putting NIFCA SEA in the subject box) nifca@nifca.gov.uk.
