Northumberland Inshore Fisheries and Conservation Authority (NIFCA) will be holding a series of public Stakeholder meetings as follows:-

 Friday, 27 February at the NIFCA office (8 Ennerdale Road, Blyth, NE24 4RT) from 3.00 pm until 7.00 pm;

 Monday, 2 March at the Olde Ship Inn, Seahouses from 6.30 pm until 9.00 pm;

 Wednesday, 4 March at the Amble Development Trust office at Fourways 2 in Amble from 6.30 pm until 9.00 pm

 Thursday, 5 March at County Hall, Morpeth from 10.30 am until 3.00 pm.

These events will particularly focus on the recently announced proposed Marine Conservation Zone from Coquet to St. Mary’s, fisheries management in the Berwickshire & North Northumberland Coast Special Area of Conservation, the Northumberland Marine Special Protection Area for birds in the district which is now being considered and lobster research work being currently undertaken.

The event at County Hall will be a forum, with a number of speakers including from Newcastle University looking at their joint work with NIFCA in Northumberland.
